BOPP Slitter Machine (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene Slitter Rewinder) is a high-speed converting machine used to slit large jumbo rolls of BOPP film into smaller rolls of specific widths and lengths. These finished rolls are commonly used for packaging, lamination, adhesive tape, and labeling applications. BOPP films are thin, smooth, and stretchable, so the slitter machine must offer precise tension control and smooth web handling to ensure perfect edges and wrinkle-free winding. The machine is typically divided into three main sections — the unwind unit, the slitting section, and the rewind unit. The unwind section securely holds and feeds the jumbo BOPP roll under consistent tension. The slitting section uses razor blades or rotary shear knives to cut the film into desired widths, usually ranging from 20 mm to 1600 mm. In the rewind section, the slit films are rewound onto air or friction shafts into neat, tight rolls with uniform edges. The machine typically consists of three main sections: the unwind unit, the slitting section, and the rewind unit. The unwind unit holds the large parent roll and feeds it under controlled tension. In the slitting section, high-precision circular knives or razor blades cut the web into the required roll widths (commonly 56 mm, 79 mm, or 110 mm). The slit strips are then rewound onto paper or plastic cores using air shafts or friction shafts in the rewinding section. The finished rolls are compact, evenly wound, and ready for packing or printing.
